Anti-Trans Shelter Rule


Co-designed and co-chaired a national advocacy campaign that generated a record-breaking 66,000+ public comments opposing a federal rule to allow homeless shelters to discriminate against transgender people, resulting in the defeat of the proposal. The campaign coordinated more than 50 organizational members across the housing justice and LGBTQ+ movements.

Stopped Federal Plan to Open Burn 16 Million Pounds of Military Propellant

Led communications for a grassroots campaign in rural North Louisiana that forced the federal EPA, US Army, Louisiana National Guard, and state environmental agency to abandon plans to open burn 16 million pounds of unstable military propellant at Camp Minden. Working with a coalition of 24 core organizers and thousands of supporters, the campaign secured a federally facilitated community dialogue process and ultimately a safer disposal alternative.

Won Statewide Ballot for Jury Reform


Served as creative director for the campaign for Louisiana Constitutional Amendment 2, requiring unanimous jury verdicts for felony convictions. The measure passed with a 28-point margin, repealing a Jim Crow law written into the state constitution to dilute the power of Black jurors for over 100 years.

Passed Housing & Opportunity Bills in Louisiana

Drafted and successfully lobbied for the passage of bills in three consecutive legislative sessions to expand opportunity for people impacted by homelessness, including protections from eviction for survivors of domestic abuse, expanded eligibility for child care assistance for families experiencing homelessness, and in-state tuition and campus housing for youth with lived experience of foster care or homelessness.

Defeated Anti-Trans Bills

Led media and advocacy response to anti-trans legislation in Louisiana 2021 session, coordinating alignment across advocates, youth and families, state agencies, Democratic caucus, Republican allies, and the Governor's office. Three bills were defeated in committee; the last by veto override.

Advanced Criminal Justice Reforms in Louisiana

Directed media relations for a campaign that successfully passed ten criminal justice reform bills in a single Louisiana legislative session — together representing, at the time, the most comprehensive package of state criminal justice reforms in modern U.S. history.

Passed Historic Federal House Resolution

Coordinated lobbying strategy on the first ever transgender-specific legislation to pass the U.S. House of Representatives, H.Res.124 by U.S. Congressman Joe Kennedy, a resolution condemning the Trump Administration's ban on open transgender military service, which passed with bipartisan support.

Secured Administrative Nondiscrimination Policy in New Mexico

Working in coalition with state agencies, national advocacy organizations, and state-level advocates, secured the most comprehensive state administrative nondiscrimination policy in the U.S. for LGBTQ+ youth interacting with the foster care or juvenile legal systems or accessing youth homelessness services.
